Backyard Apartments
The design explores the relationship between the resident/individual and the greater residential/communal environment; represented architecturally by a single triangle motif and a larger encompassing triangulated pattern.
This functional integration, as opposed to a decorative response, informed the intensity and scale of the design and its triangulated facade.
The architecture aims to provide an exciting, iconic, considered and appropriate built form in a vibrant and eclectic architectural environment. The architectural idiom will follow through to the building entry with a generous height lobby space and fully integrated services.
The roof level will feature a communal recreation area, multimedia facilities, covered dining space, food preparation zone and planted landscaping. Plant ventilation will be integrated within an art wall at the rear along Flannigan Lane and secure bike storage is provided for 45 bikes on the fourth floor.
