Eden
The architecture took its inspiration from native rock formations and geology. Draped, landscaped planter balconies on podium levels and vertical gardens on higher levels will allow greenery to climb up the facade, replicating the local landscape and softening the building.
Eden includes a rooftop retreat, lobby bar and health and fitness centre set among native landscaped gardens. Apartments offer spacious open plan living and dining areas flowing onto continuous glass fronted balconies of up to 236m² overlooking the river, the city and tree canopies. A landscaped public pedestrian laneway will link Eden from Victoria Street directly to the Yarra River.
Eden will achieve an average 6 star energy rating throughout. The implementation of a solar hot water system will aid in providing hot water in all apartments, while water collected on rooftops will be stored and used for irrigating the extensive landscaped areas and for flushing toilets in commercial tenancies.
This display suite, oriented to align with the edge of the Yarra River was designed to take advantage of riverside views, encourage visitors to stay for extended periods and ultimately, make purchasers feel as comfortable as possible about their investment.
Embracing the notion of the riverside retreat, visitors turning off the main road take a winding journey through the site to the entrance. More like a house than a sales suite, upon entering, visitors are greeted by a sales representative and taken on another journey of discovery along a light, airy hallway to a large living and dining space, illuminated by natural light from expansive floor-to-ceiling windows.
The overall effect is of being in someone's home, overlooking an appealing, natural setting. The expansive apartment component of the suite relates directly to the external environment, incorporating a warm, natural palette in neutral tones. Finishes in timber veneer and natural stone, together with textured fabrics, matt paint, natural woven jute and timber flooring, are specified throughout. Distinctive artwork complements the materials and colour palette and celebrates the uniqueness of the project's natural surrounds.
On the other side of the living area, glass-walled sales pods provide privacy, whilst deliberately allowing visitors to view other purchasers signing sales contracts. These pods are off a large sales area, divided in the middle by a model of the complete development. Either side of the model, large touchscreens and a full set of sales collateral are at the disposal of sales staff and visitors alike, allowing two sales areas to operate simultaneously. A bespoke café and outdoor terrace completes the experience.
