This unique, six-storey residential building, incorporating one and two-bedroom apartments, took its inspiration from the site's inherent connection to the beach and to the dynamism, movement and effervescence of water.
The sea, with its tactile surfaces, organic patterns and layered shapes and spaces creates interacting areas of solids and voids. This provided the basis for the architectural idiom explored in the façade.
Made of white, natural concrete precast panels, the façade was developed to provide an internal/external connection, frame views of the surrounds and capture the best qualities of the site.
Permitting light and ventilation as well as protection from the elements, the façade has depth thanks to carefully placed voids enabling internal spaces and surfaces to be revealed. This in turn allows privacy to tenants while encouraging activation to the street frontage.
