A multi-residential apartment project in Prahran is influenced by the edgy, artistic culture of the surrounding area.
With Swinburne University and its creative, fine art and design students studying on the opposite corner, the project called for a degree of individuality and innovation appropriate to the context.
A heavily articulated facade with an emphasis on materiality, combines concrete and timber using random spots of colour to bring a sense of uniqueness and individuality to the design. A large concrete corner acts as a strong anchor piece that all other boxes hang off and respond to. The overall design is playful with its forms, achieving a unique composition, synonymous with the area.
