Northcote’s Victorian, Edwardian and interwar houses have long sailed past the affordability point for most first-home buyers but a large new development of 53 apartments and 123 townhouses in Gadd Street will offer an entry point to the popular suburb.
This residential project, opposite train tracks in Hawthorn is in the heart of the regeneration area surrounding Burwood Road and responds, not only to the surrounding industrial buildings, but to the evolving character of the precinct.

Dealing with difficult sites or council planning restrictions puts pressure on architects to come up with an innovative solution. ROTHELOWMAN faced this dilemma when planning projects for two sites in South Melbourne – at 58 Clarke Street and 150 Clarendon Street.
